Every year, thousands of LGBTQ+ Americans are left out of Pride celebrations. As an inclusive tech leader, we saw a chance for Verizon to do what they do best and connect people across the country. For Pride 2018, R/GA Teamed up with Verizon to host the first digitally-connected pride parade, allowing thousands of strangers to walk side-by-side in support of equality, diversity and inclusion. Participants had to record themselves with any color from the rainbow flag , while our custom-made color recognition technology seamlessly curated their submissions, which were broadcasted in Verizon store fronts at actual pride marches. With a reach of 106M and 32M impressions, it remains Verizon's second-best performing campaign to date and was featured in various media outlets such as AdWeek. #ConnectedByPride is still Verizon's running signature for Pride.
